That being said, it was clear that things weren’t great between them. Severide has been apologetic about getting obsessed over being a fire cop, while Kidd struggles to fully trust him again. In the clip, however, it seems like both have moved on from their past issues. Whether they are actually okay in Chicago Fire season 12 is unclear. After his latest out-of-town stint as a fire cop, Severide has been devoted to Kidd, spending as much time as he can with her in an attempt to make amends. Meanwhile, Kidd is more understanding of her husband’s penchant for solving arson cases. Following this new crisis, however, the couple will once again face another hurdle when Severide goes missing for a case. If he survives that, showrunner Andrea Newman teases a big development for Severide and Kidd in the Chicago Fire season 12 finale. Chicago Fire season 12 will only consist of 13 episodes, which means that after this week’s outing, there will only be three remaining ones before it wraps up. Luckily. NBC has already renewed all three One Chicago shows. This means that regardless of what happens in the finale, Chief Boden’s Firehouse 51 is guaranteed to return for the 2024-2025 TV season.
