It’s official: Multiple Academy Award nominee Michelle Pfeiffer will star in The Madison,
the latest Taylor Sheridan-produced Yellowstone spinoff series. MTV Entertainment Studios
and 101 Studios today confirmed reports that had been widely circulated on the Internet that
Pfeiffer would be part of the new show, which their press release describes as “a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.”
Elsewhere, The Madison has been described as the story of Stacy Clyburn, the wealthy matriarch of a family who heads to Montana from New York City following the death of her husband and brother-in-law in a plane crash. Presumably, Pfeiffer would play Stacy Clyburn.
“Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace,” said Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and President/CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios. “She is the perfect anchor to the newest chapter of the Yellowstone universe, Madison, from the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan.”
The Madison — formerly known as 2024 — also will reportedly star C&I reader favorite Kurt Russell, but that casting has not yet been officially confirmed. (Guess we’ll have to wait for another press release to get the final word on that.) If he is indeed on board, the new show will mark a reunion for the pair, after their co-starring performances in the 1988 thriller Tequila Sunrise.
No word yet on when The Madison will begin filming, or when it will premiere on Paramount+.Pfeiffer, who first came to prominence as Al Pacino’s co-star in Brain De Palma’s violent 1983 crime drama Scarface, has also appeared in such films as Batman Returns (as Catwoman), Dangerous Minds, French Exit, Dark Shadows, Hairspray, Stardust, White Oleander, What Lies Beneath, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Deep End of the Ocean, One Fine Day, Up Close & Personal, Dangerous Minds, Wolf, The Witches of Eastwick and Ladyhawke. She recently starred as Betty Ford in the Showtime anthology series The First Lady.
