Caleb’s end ‘confirmed’ as Ruby makes a shocking discovery in Emmerdale 👉 What problems will Caleb encounter?

Caleb Miligan (William Ash) has been living on borrowed time in Emmerdale

after choosing to tell a massive lie to wife Ruby (Beth Cordingly).

During a visit to the hospital, Caleb arrived in a ward room and was

met with a very unwell lady called Helen, who turned out to be Ruby’s mum. It was quickly established that Helen and Ruby have never had a good relationship, as Helen and her partner threw Ruby out of the family years ago as a result of her being with Caleb.

Despite this, Helen wanted one final chance to see her daughter before she died. At first, Caleb said no but then told Helen if she transferred him some money, he’d try and get Ruby to the hospital.

Unfortunately, Helen died before she could see Ruby, but did manage to transfer Caleb the money in time. He has chosen to keep this a secret, which may turn out to be the wrong move.

As the reading of Helen’s will gets underway, Ruby reacts in shock and horror to one of Fiona’s documents, and Caleb reckons he’s been rumbled.

Ruby’s world is then turned upside down when Helen’s will confirms that she was secretly in touch with Ruby and Caleb’s daughter Steph before she died. Isolated and vulnerable, Ruby tells Chas (Lucy Pargeter) that she’s grateful for Caleb providing her with a link to the Dingles when her own family is so estranged.

Meanwhile, Caleb enjoys a moment of relief after making it through the will reading unscathed but this is a soap, let’s not forget, will Ruby really stay in the dark forever?

‘I think the unknown is more terrifying than anything because he’s been taken by surprise about how she reacted over her mother’s death’, star Will Ash explained.

‘She wanted to see her before she died, she wanted closure, but he thought he was protecting her from her mum. Now if she discovers that he was involved and met up with her mum before she died, I think he’s quietly terrified. It could spell the end of their relationship.

‘Quite easily at this point she could just totally walk out on him and go and live with Nicky in San Francisco or wherever he is travelling around the world, because she could see Caleb as toxic and somebody she doesn’t actually want to be with.

‘So I think it’s really precarious, the position that he’s in.’
