In a recent twist on Emmerdale, villain Rose Jackson escalated her efforts to frame rival Kim Tate following a botched drink-spiking scheme. On Thursday night, Rose attempted to sabotage Kim by spiking her ex-husband Will Taylor’s drink, but the plan went awry. By Friday, fans were quick to notice Rose’s critical mistake.
Rose, the estranged ex-wife of Will and mother of Dawn Taylor, has been conspiring with Ruby Fox Milligan to bring down Kim Tate. Earlier in the week, Ruby pressured Rose to execute their sinister plan, leading Rose to meet a dealer who supplied her with a vial of tranquilizer. Despite her growing bond with her daughter Dawn and her own second thoughts, Rose proceeded with the plan.
The target was Will, but a mix-up ensued when more drinks were poured, causing Rose to lose track of the spiked one. Initially, it seemed Will had consumed the drugged drink as he felt unwell, but he soon recovered after a nap. The real victim turned out to be Dawn, who was involved in a serious car crash, also injuring El Foster. Dawn, who has a history of drug addiction, assured her family she hadn’t relapsed and suspected she had been spiked.
Back at Home Farm, Dawn held a family meeting and revealed she knew she had been drugged, asserting that it had to be someone in the house. Suspicion quickly fell on Rose, who deflected the blame onto Kim, claiming Kim intended to spike her but Dawn drank the beverage instead. Despite Kim’s protests and pointing out Rose’s involvement, Dawn sided with her estranged mother due to Kim’s notorious past, including a previous incident of spiking Dawn.
The episode ended with Kim’s family turning against her. However, by Friday night, Kim managed to convince some family members of her innocence. In a devious move, Rose called her dealer to Home Farm, where he falsely claimed Kim owed him money for drugs. Kim denied knowing the man, but Dawn remained unconvinced and insisted on leaving Home Farm with her family.
To avoid conflict, Kim decided to leave Home Farm herself, allowing Dawn to stay with her son Evan, who has ongoing hospital appointments. Later, Kim spotted Rose meeting the dealer and handing him cash, further implicating her in the scheme.
Fans took to Twitter, noting that phone records could expose Rose’s calls to the dealer, and Kim could potentially use photos of Rose with the dealer as evidence. One viewer commented, “Rose caught red-handed,” while another speculated, “Kim has a plan. She’s just making horrible Rose think she’s won. She’ll come back fighting and throw her out.”
