EastEnders fans are ‘convinced’ they’ve figured out who murdered Harry
Mitchell’s former flame, following a revelation from Jack
Branning in Tuesday’s episode of the BBC One soap (October 22).
In the latest visit to the Square, officer Jack (Scott Maslen) shared details about Harry’s (Elijah Holloway) history with his daughter Penny (Kitty Castledine) before he relocated to Walford.
After some investigation, Jack confirmed that Harry had been accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend after a public dispute. Shereen disappeared post-argument and was assumed dead, but Harry was never formally charged.
Harry, smitten with love, didn’t hesitate to declare his innocence to Penny, explaining his tumultuous relationship with Shereen, and how they both “gave as good as they got”, hinting at their volatile past.
Penny trusted Harry’s account as they plotted to bring down Jack, who had assaulted Harry in public and failed to support Penny during the club crush incident.
As regular viewers of the ITV soap will recall, Harry arrived in the Square over the summer with his younger brother Barney (Lewis Bridgeman) and their father Harry (Roland Manookian), reports the Manchester Evening News.
The trio has since alluded to their past and fleeing from someone, although the specifics remain unclear.
Now, EastEnders fans are speculating that Harry’s mother could be the one who killed Shereen. The imminent arrival of Harry’s ex-wife Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) in Walford is fuelling rumours that she may be linked to her son’s murky past.
