AXED Emmerdale actor Sam Hall has finally confirmed his exit as his final
scenes as Samson Dingle aired. The actor – who played troubled Samson in the
ITV soap – shared an emotional goodbye with fans after his exit scenes played
out. The Sun had exclusively revealed Sam had been axed as Samson earlier this year. Viewers watched last night as Samson was sentenced to four years in prison for violently attacking thug Josh. In a video on the soap’s Instagram page, Sam said: “So as you’ve seen Samson has now left the village. “It’s been a great storyline so I’d like to thank everyone who’s been with me, cast and crew, over the last 15 years. “And hopefully we’ll see Samson again. See you later.”
Sam’s final scenes as Samson aired last night when his dad Sam had a brief goodbye in court before he was taken to prison. “I’m really sorry I let you down dad, I’ve been a rubbish son, haven’t I?” he said to his dad in prison. Sam tried to reassure him, telling him he was proud of him but added: “I just wish you weren’t going away for so long. “If you keep your head down, you could be out in two years for good behaviour.”
He encouraged his son to take on any training opportunities behind bars so he could get a job when he’s realised. “I’ve got to go dad,” said Samson as he hugged his dad goodbye for a final time. However fans were left furious with the exit, taking to social media to slam it. One wrote: “That was such a poor exit for Sam after all the years he has been in Emmerdale. “They should have let him and Amelia go off travelling with Esther, after all she does not really have storylines so can’t understand why her, Noah or Sarah are still in it. “I love Emmerdale but really bad decision.”
