One Emmerdale resident in particular was struggling to process the revelations regarding Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) in tonight’s episode.
Last week, multiple people learnt that Joe was responsible for the limo crash in February. The ordeal saw Suzy, Leyla and Amy die, but their friends and family were led to believe Noah and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) were behind the event.
While this was true somewhat, Charity swerving her limo to avoid hitting Noah only happened because Joe had drugged him, making him the reason those women died.
One character then confronted Joe and pushed him out of a window, and we now know that person was Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley).

Joe was put in a coma the next day due to experiencing a bleed on his brain.
As a result of finally knowing who caused his mum’s death, Jacob has been seriously struggling. In tonight’s episode, he said to Kerry (Laura Norton) and Eric (Chris Chittell) that he had been called into work, but he was also hiding a dark secret.
Jacob approached the room Joe was in and became consumed with negative emotion. As the rage built, Jacob came close to tampering with the machines helping to keep Joe alive.
Found by Kerry a while later, Jacob told her that he didn’t do anything to Joe, but certainly came close.

As the tears fell, Jacob wondered how on earth he would get justice for his mum, when the person who caused her death was already lying in a coma.
Kerry pointed out that justice can be interpreted in many different ways – and Jacob could instead get it by being the best doctor his mum knew he would be.
Jacob appreciated Kerry’s kind words. It didn’t exactly fix the situation, but it was enough.
