1. Coronation Street confirms Debbie Webster’s exit

Coronation Street bosses officially confirmed Debbie Webster’s dementia storyline this week, following months of rumours surrounding the plans for the popular character’s future.
Upcoming scenes see Debbie diagnosed with young onset dementia following the recent troubles she’s been experiencing with her memory.
There’s a long road ahead for Debbie beyond this, with Corrie chiefs confirming that her journey will play out for the “coming months and years”.
Sue Devaney, who plays Debbie, commented: “Obviously, down the line, you don’t survive dementia. So I knew that the story would eventually come to an end and my character would come to an end.
“This was my first job when I was 16 and I left after a year and now it will be coming to an end again. But I also realised this was a really important story to tell and is a really fantastic opportunity to act.”

2. Coronation Street exit ahead for Lou

Following last week’s big news that Mick Michaelis will be leaving the cobbles this summer, we now know that the bad boy’s wife Lou will be joining him.
Corrie bosses confirmed this week that Mick and Lou were only ever brought in to cause chaos in Weatherfield for a finite stint. Actors Joe Layton and Farrel Hegarty signed up for this fixed-term run when they first joined the ITV soap at the end of last year.
Mick and Lou are currently making enemies among the established characters and their antics are building to a bigger storyline which will play out over the coming months.

3. Natalie Anderson joins Coronation Street

Former Emmerdale and Hollyoaks star Natalie Anderson is returning to the soap world this month with a new guest role on Coronation Street.
Natalie is playing Weatherfield newcomer Danielle, who’s connected to Todd Grimshaw’s new love interest Theo Silverton.
Natalie is best known to soap fans for playing Alicia Gallagher on Emmerdale and Lexi Calder on Hollyoaks.

4. Coronation Street’s Rovers Return could change hands

There’s bad news for Jenny Connor in upcoming Coronation Street episodes as Carla Connor announces that she’s putting the Rovers Return up for sale.

Advance spoilers revealed for Monday, April 14 have revealed that the duo are soon “rocked by a mystery arrival”, leading to a “shock discovery” and a big decision that needs to be made.

6. Emmerdale’s John Sugden secrets to finally be revealed

Emmerdale bosses are about to deliver answers over John Sugden’s mysterious behaviour.
The show is promising that viewers will “finally see the real John Sugden” in next week’s episodes, as the secrets and lies that surround him are finally explored in a series of flashback scenes.
Emmerdale‘s producer Laura Shaw commented: “Since enigmatic and inscrutable John Sugden arrived on our screens last summer, he’s managed to hide some pretty big secrets from his family and friends.
“As his clandestine acts are revealed, the audience has an opportunity to really get inside John’s mind and to finally understand exactly what this mysterious character is really about.”

7. Emmerdale to expose Nate’s fate

Emmerdale‘s Amy Walsh gave a sneaky tease for the future this week, as she revealed that her character Tracy Robinson will discover the truth about Nate’s death soon.
Amy confirmed that she’s just starting to film the scenes where Tracy starts to find out that there’s more to Nate’s departure than meets the eye.
Tracy currently believes that Nate has blocked all contact after deciding to relocate for a new job in Shetland. However, viewers know that Nate is dead after his body was spotted in the lake in the recent limo crash episodes.
Amy commented: “It’s been a long time coming – so long. Tracy has had all these feelings that Nate’s done badly to her, and finally poor Nate gets his justice.
“It’s such a journey for Tracy to take. I’ve just got some new scripts through and it’s really juicy stuff for me.”
