Emmerdale fans have “rumbled” the blackmailer behind Manpreet’s mysterious texts as they’re convinced a character set to exit the soap this year is guilty.
Rebecca Sarker first stepped foot in the Dales in 2018 to take on the role of Manpreet Sharma. As a well-liked resident and character, she’s been involved in some pretty big storylines including her serial killer sister, Meena.
During Thursday’s (March 6) episode, Leyla Harding’s funeral took place and the ITV soap aired flashbacks that showed she found out three villagers big secrets.
One secret was that Suzy Merton and Mary Goskirk shared a kiss behind Vanessa’s back, and the second secret was Tracy stealing money from Pollard as Nate was no longer sending child maintenance – little does Tracy know, Nate’s body is currently floating in the lake.
It was then Manpreet’s turn to be exposed, as Leyla was seen walking into the GP surgery to see Liam and instead she saw Manpreet looking at something on her laptop. We later found out she had been posting photos of herself online, Leyla asked if it was her and said “wow” repeatedly as Manpreet begged her not to tell anyone.

During Friday’s (March 7) instalment, Manpreet was glued to her phone looking concerned. Viewers then saw she was receiving messages that read: “I KNOW YOUR DIRTY SECRET” and “DO YOUR PATIENTS KNOW WHAT YOU’VE BEEN UP TO?”
As she blocks the number, Manpreet snaps at Tracy in the shop as she accidently knocked her phone out of her hands. Later, Manpreet confided in Ella who told her she had nothing to be ashamed of.

Ella offered to help Manpreet, but the threat to the blackmailer about going to the police only caused more trouble as she received yet another threatening message.
However, some fans are convinced Ella is secretly behind the cruel messages. Paula Lane who joined the ITV soap in 2023 is reportedly leaving the Dales some point this year.

On a Facebook fan page, one viewer suggested: “What if it’s Ella? I know she was sat right there but what if she saw it on Manpreet’s laptop at work”, another replied: “My thoughts were what if Meena is using Ella to get to Manpreet? It’s obvious”.
On Reddit, u/RachaelL82 added: “I wonder if it’s the same website Mandy Dingle was on last year. Manpreet’s blackmailer could be Ella and this is why she leaves or Tracy who needs money. Leyla could have told Suzy who then told Vanessa who maybe told Tracy or she overheard Suzy/Vanessa talking.”
