EastEnders has outlined details of the next stage in the disturbing storyline between Joel Marshall and Tommy Moon.
The pair have developed somewhat of a friendship over recent weeks, though things took a dark turn recently after Joel told Tommy he’d secretly filmed himself having sex with Avani Nandra-Hart.
Tommy was shocked at Joel’s actions, with tomorrow’s (5 June) scenes seeing Joel become even more sinister as he attempts to humiliate Avani. He later corrupts Tommy even further, with the latter’s family left unaware by Joel’s growing influence.
Following the disturbing developments, next week’s scenes will see Vicki, the girlfriend of Joel’s father Ross, discover why the teenager is currently so unpopular. Amy tells Vicki that Joel had shamed Avani for sleeping with him and she’s been receiving abusive messages from her peers.
Vicki later informs Ross of what she’s learned about Joel, with the pair agreeing that he needs more positive male role models in his life.
Optimism increases for a period after Joel helps Tommy with his speech for Kat and Alfie’s wedding though, with Vicki and Ross left enthused.
They believe that the friendship could be a good thing for Joel, with the teenager inviting Tommy to his house following the wedding. Things turn sinister once again though when Joel plays a video that includes derogatory views towards women.
Following his own troubles with his parents, how will Tommy react to Joel’s disturbing views? And will the respective parents of each child discover that Joel is a bad influence in Albert Square?
“Vicki and Ross are hopeful that Tommy will be a good influence on Joel,” explains our Walford insider. “But they don’t realise that it’s the other way around, and that their son is leading his new friend astray. What will Tommy make of Joel’s worrying views?”
