Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd issued a cheeky ‘breaking news’ announcement as he hilariously lined up a ‘new job’ on live TV.
The actor has been taking some time to get used to being back in the outside world having been crowned the champion of Celebrity Big Brother 2025 last Friday night (April 25).
As the 37-year-old was announced as the winner of the ITV reality show, he was congratulated by runner-up RuPaul’s Drag Race season four winner Danny Beard, before saying: “Oh my God, thanks, come on, wow.”
The actor, who is famed for playing David Platt in Corrie, told presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best of his win: “I can’t believe it, I am blown away, I didn’t expect it tonight.
“I mean, what is there? Six in the final? I thought I was a shoe-in for maybe fifth, honestly, and then as people were just disappearing, I thought, surely not.
Days after the win, Jack appeared on Good Morning Britain for his first TV interview, during which he was asked if he will invite his fellow housemates to his upcoming wedding to fiancee Hanni Treweek.

He said: “No, I don’t think so. Come on. I’ve only known them three weeks. Got guest list (a) mile long.”
He added: “He (Chris Hughes) keeps asking for an invite. Keeps on going, ‘I’ll see you at that wedding’, I’m like ‘I don’t think you will pal’, haven’t even told him (the) date.”
But while on the programme, despite having recently marked 25 years of playing David in Corrie, he was asked if he had any other career ambitions, leading Jack to quip that he could give presenting a go.
GMB hosts Ed Balls and Susanna Reid were quick to encrourage him as they got him to read the next autocue link. After initailly laughing before realising they were serious, he put on a theatrical vocie and revealed what was still to come on the news programme before handing over to Laura Tobin with the weather.
Alongside a clip of the moment shared to his Instagram profile on Wednesday (April 30), the caption read: “BREAKING NEWS. Thanks for having me @gmb @itv [crying;aighing emoji].”
