A new Chief, a half-brother, and more in the Chicago Fire season 13 premiere (Preview)

There’s a lot of change coming in the Chicago Fire season 13 premiere.

That includes a new Chief at Firehouse 51, who is about to shift the dynamics in the family.

Things are changing at Firehouse 51, and the Chicago Fire season 13

premiere is going to bring us the start of that. You will not want to miss this episode. The Chicago Fire season 13 premiere promises drama and updates. It all starts with the new Chief arriving at Firehouse 51, but there are a lot of other storylines to keep an eye on. After all, the season 12 finale left us with a lot of cliffhangers and questions.

Meet the new Chief in the Chicago Fire season 13 premiere
As showrunner Andrea Newman explained to us, Herrmann can’t just jump straight into Boden’s chair. There are career progressions to go through, and that means Firehouse 51 needs a new Chief. That’s going to come in the form of Dom Pascal, played by the amazing Dermot Mulroney.

Dom isn’t a cuddly family man. He brings a completely different vibe to the firehouse, and that could lead to some dynamics changing. How will Herrmann react to this new Chief coming in? Him and Mouch are going to feel the changes the most considering how connected they were to Boden through their careers.

Then there’s everything going on with Severide. Just as he told Kidd that he wanted to start a family with her, Damon dropped the bombshell that he is Severide’s half-brother. On top of that, Benny was not a good man and was abusive to him. That’s a different story from the one we heard from his half-sister Katie. So, is Damon really his brother?

We know from the synopsis for the Chicago Fire season 13 premiere that Cruz is worried. He’s going to keep an eye on the budding friendship between Severide and Damon. It’s possible that he has no idea about Damon being Severide’s half-brother, which means that his fears of the friendship forming are due to jealousy? Does Cruz feel like he’s being pushed out, especially with the way his relationship with Severide shifted last season? Sounds like we’re going to have to wait to see.

There is one call out that’s mentioned in the synopsis for the premiere. It’s all about Violet and Novak, who will head out to a call that involves a car crash. They will work together to figure out what really happened during the crash. Will they end up working with PD to uncover the truth?

Take a look at the synopsis for the Chicago Fire season 13 premiere:

“A new chief shakes things up at Firehouse 51; Violet and Novak work to uncover the truth behind a car crash; Cruz keeps a watchful eye on Severide and Damon’s growing bond.”
