Coronation Street star Simon Gregson has said he “couldn’t be prouder” as he shared a picture to social media with his three children. Simon has played the role of Steve McDonald onCoronation Street for over three decades, after joining the soap in 1989.

He has been a much-loved character on the soap over the years, known best for his comic side and history of unsuccessful love affairs. Off-screen his life is very different to his Coronation Street counterpart.

On Instagram yesterday, Simon wrote: “My world in 1 picture being a dad is the best thing in my life and I couldn’t be prouder of our three boys.”

Fans of the Coronation Street legend commented on the family selfie. Joanne wrote: “Such a great pic of you all, such handsome boys you have Simon” and Sharon commented Beautiful photo of you and your sons.”

Jenni agreed “what a great photo Simon” and Susan responded “Lovely photo. Lovely looking lads”, alongside a hand clapping emoji. The post was uploaded to mark Father’s Day.
