Coronation Street fans think they ‘know’ who dobbed Maria Windass into the autorities following her incident at the Platt’s barbeque – and it wasn’t Lou Micahelis herself.
As fans of the ITV soap have seen, Maria has taken a clear disliking to Lou, mainly thanks to her husband Mick. But while there has always been tension between the pair, things were stepped up a notch during Friday’s (June 13) episode.
During the last visit to Weatherfield of the week, viewers saw David and Shona Platt hosting a gathering at No.8 Coronation Street following the completion of work on the property after it was ravaged by fire earlier this year.
Maria was among those in attendance, but she wasn’t happy that Lou had made the guest list, and showed up. Shona told Maria to cut her hairdressing colleague some slack, but it didn’t seem to simmer tensions.
Later, after Lou had popped to the Lou, she could be seen tentatively surveying Shona’s bag. As fans know, she’s struggling to make ends meet, particularly since Mick is now behind bars for the murder of PC Craig Tinker.
It comes after Lou had earlier overheard Shona talking to Audrey about the BBQ, with Audrey confirming she wouldn’t be attending. In the same conversation, Shona said she would take the salon money back home for David to take to the bank.

Back to the gathering at No.8 and as Lou seemingly considered taking the money, Maria walked into the living room and quickly suspected Lou of trying to steal Audrey’s takings from the salon.
After confronting Lou, viewers saw Maria and Lou get into a tussle, before cutting away to show the other residents hearing a crash, before heading inside and finding Lou on the floor, with blood on her arms having fallen on David’s new coffee table.
Maria was quick to deny pushing her, but Lou wasn’t having any of it. Shoan confirmed the money was still in her bag, and hadn’t been stolen, and it was Gary who offered to take Lou to the hospital, where she had a few stitches.
Later, while having a drink in the Rovers with Sarah Platt, the police arrived and arrested Maria for actual bodily harm (ABH), with plans to take her to the police station for questioning.

But Corrie fans don’t think Lou was the one to report Maria to the police – and think her own husband, Gary, was behind the decision.
@AngelaP49083964 asked: “Does anyone else rhink it was Gary who reported Maria to the police? Is he going to have an affair with Lou? #corrie.” @CrisisOfChaos said: “Gotta be Gary turning Maria in! Lou doesn’t wanna deal with all that, but Gary’s getting so fed up #Corrie.”
@lexiiiiilou wrote: “I reckon it was Gary who reported Maria.” @jeankellyx commented: “My favourite line of the night was from David ‘what are you sat on it for it’s not a park bench’. I think it was Gary who reported Maria to the police.”
@grantstevenson83 posted: “Guessing it was Gary lol.” @anna_pi____ added: “Gary totally made the complaint.”
Others, however, also have a suspicion Lou’s son, Brody, could have also made the report, having seen his mum after coming back from the hospital and railing at her for attending the barbeque in the first place and leaving his younger sisters with Sally and Tim Metcalfe.
