EastEnders spoilers follow for the latest episode, which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and won’t air on TV until Tuesday, 10 June.

EastEnders has confirmed George Knight’s unexpected Christmas Day secret – and there’s another shock for Elaine.

Elaine wasn’t impressed when she found out that her husband had secretly helped his ex-wife Cindy to relaunch The Albert last week.

Things were still tense between the pair in the latest episode released on BBC iPlayer, but they both apologised to one another – George for going behind her back and Elaine for her reaction.

As they made up, Elaine told George that she had a surprise for him and gathered the family at the Vic to give him a present that celebrated his achievements at the boxing club.

But Junior, who had recently returned from Dubai, interrupted proceedings after paying his mum Sabrina a visit. He revealed that George had lied about being at a boxing match on Christmas night and was with Sabrina instead.

The Knights were shocked about George’s latest lie and while he vowed that he hadn’t cheated on Elaine, he was forced to admit that Sabrina kissed him during his festive visit.

George said he went there to talk about Junior and she made a pass at him. When he pulled away, Sabrina slapped him – which explained the blood on his shirt.

Elaine was devastated by her husband’s deception and more so that he had roped in Gina and Kojo to cover for him. Hurt and angry, she asked him to leave.

Linda and Johnny gave Elaine differing advice about how she should address her marital problems, but she listened to neither of them and distracted herself by preparing for Kat and Alfie’s wedding.

Meanwhile, Cindy offered to be a friend for George when she noticed him struggling. The pair went upstairs in The Albert for some privacy.

While George and Cindy had a candid chat about their problems, Linda told Elaine that she should find her husband to get to the truth and then make a decision about her future.

As Elaine went looking for George, she spotted him hugging Cindy on the balcony of the club and was heartbroken once again.
