Fire Country season 4 officially happening (and there’s more good news!)

Fire Country fans are living good right now. The show was renewed for a fourth season by CBS, in what was probably the least surprising decision on the network’s entire slate of shows. The drama has been a ratings titan since it debuted, and has continued to electrify fans between its action and character dynamics.

The show will not be alone, though. 2025-26 will not only yield a new season of Fire Country, but an all new spinoff titled Sheriff Country. The law enforcement is set to debut the 2025-26 season, but CBS seems to like what they have seen thus far. The two shows will run concurrently on CBS, which means Country is officially a franchise.

Fire Country‘s first spinoff will premiere in 2025

“Coming in Hot” – With the Chezem Valley fire blazing out of control, Bode and Audrey must find a way to save themselves; Manny risks his freedom for his missing daughter; and Eve tries to protect her father (Phil Morris) and their family’s ranch, on FIRE COUNTRY, Friday, Jan. 31 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode

This is exactly what the network envisioned a few years back. George Cheeks, the President and CEO of CBS, told Deadline that he was confident Fire Country could serve as a franchise anchor the same way Law & Order or Chicago Fire has for NBC.

“We are focused on mass-appeal franchises,” Cheeks asserted. “This season’s number one show was Fire Country, which completely lends itself to building out a whole new universe.” He went on to praise the structure of the show, and the ways in which it organically lent itself to spinoffs.

“It became very clear that not only was the show special, it really felt like this could be a great example of us building together a franchise from scratch,” the President/CEO added. The fact that Sheriff Country is the first of two planned spinoffs in the near future is an indicator of how good the network feels about its new franchise.

A second spinoff is already in the works

Max Theirot, the star and executive producer of Fire Country, has been similarly thrilled by the ways in which Sheriff Country will expand the show’s universe. He told Us Weekly that he feels the spinoff is a good yin to the flagship show’s yang, in terms of tone and subject matter.

“Just getting to see a different side of the town is going to be really fun,” Theirot stated. “It’s going to give us a more complete understanding of this community and this town and these people. I just think it’s going to make the world feel more whole in a weird way.” Obviously, the fans agree.

The aforementioned second spinoff is still untitled, and has yet to be picked up by CBS. It’s currently in production, but we do know that it will revolve around Camden Casey, a character played by Jared Padalecki in Fire Country season 3.
