Aaron Calls Off The Wedding | Emmerdale

What was meant to be a joyful celebration in Emmerdale turns into an emotional train wreck when Aaron confronts a devastating truth during his wedding to John. The ceremony begins with all the expected pomp, but quickly unravels when Aaron drops a bombshell in front of the stunned guests — John, the man he is about to marry, is the same man who once tried to kill him, putting him in a coma. The revelation silences the room and sends shockwaves through the crowd. John appears momentarily stunned, but tries to brush off the accusation, claiming he’s fine. Yet, the damage has already been done.

As emotions run high, Aaron is clearly torn. A heartfelt conversation with a close friend reveals that he’s still haunted by the trauma of his past and confused by John’s actions. Meanwhile, gossip swirls among the guests when John is seen leaving in a van with none other than Aiden’s mother — raising questions about where his heart truly lies. Aaron, trying to make sense of it all, learns that John may have been preparing to leave him all along, having been caught earlier packing a bag.

As the wedding spirals further into chaos, Aaron rushes to the hospital where Aiden — John’s long-lost love — lies in a coma. There, John’s true feelings surface in a raw and disturbing confrontation. He speaks to Aiden, confessing twisted emotions: love, guilt, and possessiveness, culminating in a heart-stopping moment where he contemplates ending Aiden’s life with a fatal dose of gas to spare himself exposure. But at the last moment, John falters, overcome by guilt, leaving Aiden unconscious once again. In a panic, he calls for help as Aiden goes into cardiac arrest.

The hospital staff intervene just in time, but Aiden’s condition worsens, slipping him back into a coma. When Aaron shows up, the truth unravels. John’s betrayal cuts deep — not only did he lie about his feelings for Aiden, but he also nearly abandoned Aaron at the altar to be with him. Aaron, realizing he was never truly John’s first choice, finally walks away from the relationship, calling off the wedding in a dramatic exit. As John pleads, Aaron warns him to stay back, leaving their future in ruins.
