Fans of BBC One soap EastEnders have once again taken to social media to express their love for star Lacey Turner.
Yesterday, a vital episode aired as part of Stacey Slater’s storyline. The beloved character has been consumed with grief following Martin Fowler’s (James Bye) death in February.
Stacey has barely left her bedroom, leaving the likes of Jean (Gillian Wright) and young mum Lily (Lillia Turner) to look after the Slater household.
In the instalment that aired last night, Stacey learnt that Freddie (Bobby Brazier) had taken her coat to the laundrette. Freddie was unaware that her phone was in the pocket, which meant photographs and voicemails of Martin were at risk of disappearing forever.
Stacey raced over to the laundrette, quickly followed by Kat (Jessie Wallace) and Lily. As a result of her panicked behaviour, Stacey left her loved ones wondering if she was experiencing a bipolar episode.
When Alfie (Shane Richie) learnt that Stacey had been sending voice notes to Martin’s phone as well, they thought she believed he was still alive.
Stacey reassured Kat and said that she knew Martin was dead, and could also recognise the signs of her bipolar getting worse.
The powerful scenes once again left fans of the BBC One soap blown away by Lacey’s talent.
Taking to social media platform X, this user wrote: ’I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, Lacey Turner is an incredible actress! So many hard hitting storylines and she smashes it everytime. A powerhouse! Give her those awards already!’.
Fan Amy said: ‘There are not enough words to describe how incredible lacey turner is. she hits all the right notes every single time. always faultless. we are so lucky to have her! she’s done so much for this show, she so deserves this break.’
This audience member echoed plenty of others and wrote: ‘All the awards shows better not play with Lacey Turner, give aaaallll of them to her, her acting is truly incredible.’

Later in the episode, an argument between Stacey and Lily ensued, with the youngster deciding that she needed time away to recover from a traumatic few months. After packing her bags to stay with birth father Ryan (Neil McDermott), Stacey came to a similar conclusion.
Alongside Arthur and Hope, they packed away photos of Martin into a shoebox and decided to spend some time with Lynne Slater (Elaine Lordan).
Although Martin wasn’t there anymore, he’d always be by their side.
