What a pickle Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) has got herself into in Emmerdale.
The local GP decided a few months ago to start posting intimate images of herself online. She made this choice at a time her confidence levels were low, but she didn’t really consider that they’d be discovered by someone in the village.
As a result of Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) sneaking a look at Billy Fletcher’s (Jay Kontzle) tablet, he discovered what Manpreet had been up to.
He then started blackmailing her, but she didn’t know he was the culprit for ages.
Joe used Manpreet’s situation to his advantage by manipulating her into helping him. She had to unethically get her hands on a vial of Caleb Miligan’s (William Ash) blood, which was then tested by Doctor Crowley (James Hillier).
Manpreet was tricked into thinking Joe wanted to test Caleb’s blood to see if he has AAT deficiency. While this was true, Joe wasn’t doing it out of the kindness of his heart, he was doing it in the hope Caleb would share a blood match to him.
It turned out he did, so Joe then orchestrated the plan that ultimately saw him illegally receive his uncle’s kidney.
Yesterday, Home Farm was the location of all of Joe’s secrets being revealed, including the organ donation. To Manpreet’s horror, she realised she had been royally played, and knew if her involvement in Joe’s plot was revealed, her career would be destroyed.
Manpreet was found in the surgery by Liam (Jonny McPherson) in tonight’s episode. As a murder mystery fanatic, he couldn’t help ponder over who could’ve pushed Joe from the window.

The discussion of Joe made Manpreet break down and tell Liam everything. As soon as he learnt of what she had done, Liam told Manpreet that she will be struck off.
Manpreet knew this, but begged Liam to lie for her. She argued that he had done the same for Wendy (Susan Cookson) back in the day, but he was certain the two situations were not the same.
She eventually resigned herself to the fact she will face the consequences one way or another, but will Liam lie once again to save his friend?
