Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) and Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) are left conflicted by Joel’s (Max Murray) behaviour in EastEnders next week.
As viewers of the BBC One soap have seen, Joel has recorded himself having sex with Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James).
It’s become clear in recent weeks that the teen is deeply troubled, with the family supposedly fleeing from Australia to escape the threat of loan sharks that Ross owes $50,000 to.
Vicki was under the illusion that the debts are as a result of her partner’s divorce, but it was actually Joel that landed the family in hot water.
He’d taken a picture up one of his school mates’ skirts, and shared the photo online. Ross paid the family off to prevent them going to the police, but they demanded that Joel did not return to Sydney.
Ross is also aware of his son’s addiction to pornography, something which he introduced naïve Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) to.
Tommy had revealed that he’d never kissed a girl – and Joel hoped that he’d be able to pick up some tips from watching the videos.
Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman) caught the lads, and couldn’t believe what he’d heard when Joel suggested reenacting the video with Avani.
Subsequently, he’s slept with Avani twice, and on the latter occasion, secretly recorded them sleeping together.
Ross and Vicki caught them in the act, but a far greater concern landed on Ross’ doorstep when he unearthed the footage on Joel’s phone.
In upcoming scenes, the couple are worried about his behaviour and Vicki suggests that Ross meets up with Avani’s parents Ravi and Priya (Aaron Thiara and Sophie Khan Levy) to discuss their children’s sex life.

Ross opts to speak with Avani instead, but Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal) notices their chat and her suspicions over what they’re discussing begin to grow.
After being palmed off by Avani, she darts around to Vicki and Ross’ house and demands answers. They come clean, and she urges Avani to tell her mum about her new relationship.
For a teenager, this would be an incredibly awkward conversation, so Suki takes it upon herself to talk to Priya instead.
What the women don’t realise is that Ravi has overheard everything, and wants to speak with Joel. Ross is fiercely defensive of his son, and a fight breaks out.
