As Steph ended things with Ross, an unlikely pairing could be on the horizon

Emmerdale fans expressed their “worry” for Steph Miligan after Ross Barton was seen flirting with Manpreet Sharma in unexpected romance.
Georgia Jay joined the ITV soap last year to take on the role of Steph – daughter of Ruby and Caleb. However, things weren’t plain sailing for the family as she showed up with her granddad Anthony Fox, who received an icy reception from Ruby.
With Steph having a close bond to Anthony, Ruby became worried for her daughter. It wasn’t until Emmerdale aired flashbacks that viewers witnessed the extent of Ruby’s trauma.

It was revealed that Ruby had suffered repeated acts of sexual abuse at the hands of her estranged father when she was a teenager. This then led to him fathering Steph.
As Caleb found out he wasn’t her biological father and all of the abuse, he held Anthony at gunpoint for a confession. However, in a deadly twist it was Ruby who ended up killing him for her own form of justice after Aaron Dingle had beaten him up at the depot.
Steph was the last to learn of the truth, and since then she’s been struggling to cope. In recent episodes she almost went under the knife for a nose job, as well as trying to book in for other procedures as her face reminds her of Anthony.
While she originally struck up a fling with Ross Barton, during Tuesday’s (7th May) instalment, he was seen flirting with Manpreet.

Ross was on his own playing pool and enjoying a pint after being dumped by Steph, but it didn’t take long for Manpreet to walk in and crank up the flirtation.
With the pair dropping subtle innuendos during their time together, the pair end up sleeping together after enjoying one too many drinks.
However, Ross soon shrugged Manpreet away as he struggled to get his mind to stop thinking about Steph.
Now, some fans are concerned that Steph will find it difficult to handle if she learns about what happened between Ross and Manpreet.
On a Reddit thread, u/Admirable-Pop-7339 wrote: “I feel for Steph. I know he’s single now but if she finds out, she’s going to hate herself even more”
Another viewer, u/holdontothatthought replied: “Ross and Steph had chemistry, Ross and Manpreet have none.” On a Facebook fan page, one fan added: “The worry is that Steph will spiral again…”.
