Emmerdale confirmed that Nate was dead in February during the limo ice crash. But now, almost three months later, nobody in the village knows (except for John).

When it was revealed that John had killed Nate, Emmerdale fans finally thought the truth about him was going to come out soon. But as time goes on, he just seems to be getting away with more and more.

But it’s a soap. And nothing stays hidden forever. So, we know that at some point John’s secrets will be revealed. It’s just the how and the when that remain a mystery.

Straight away, viewers knew that John had secrets. And the way he knew how to get rid of Anthony’s body made everyone suspect it was a killer one. Which it was.

After the reveal that he killed Nate, it appears John suffers from hero complex. Which has led him to harm quite a lot of villagers.

Recently, Aaron discovered that John was lying about Aidan Moore being dead. And that caused quite a bit of tension between the pair. But after visiting Aidan in hospital, Aaron decided to forgive John for his lies.

The pair even got their wedding date moved up, and are now planning on tying the knot next month. But will Aaron discover that Nate is dead before then? And will he work out that John was responsible?

In tonight’s episode of Emmerdale, John burned all of Nate’s things, clearing up his loose ends. Then Tracy and Cain also agreed to stop looking for him, believing he has just fully abandoned his family.

Obviously, this isn’t the case. Instead Nate’s body is sinking under the lake.

But with the increased mention of him, and John making the mistake of answering Nate’s phone, could Emmerdale be hinting that the truth is about to come out?

And let’s not forget, Matty knows that one of Amy’s final words was Nate. So, if he remembers that, maybe everyone can work out what’s really happened.

While Emmerdale are remaining tight-lipped about when and if everyone will find out about John’s murderous secret, many fans believe his and Aaron’s wedding will be when it all comes to blows.

No soap wedding ever goes by smoothly. And one which involves a murderer is bound to have some bumps.

There is also the flash-forward of Cain crying at a grave still to come. Nate is the biggest theory as to who is in the grave, but quite a few others believe it’s Sarah heading for her death.

If it is Nate in the grave then we know at some point this year his body will be found. And with only two flash-forwards remaining, it doesn’t look like the soap will keep us waiting all year.
