The latest batch of EastEnders spoilers have revealed that a soap legend is set to return after being missing for months.
It’s been a period of departures on the BBC soap, with Sonia Fowler leaving Albert Square earlier in the month with her sister Bianca Jackson and daughters Bex and Julia.

On top of this, Martin Fowler and Reiss Colwell both died at the end of the programme’s 40th anniversary week back in February.

While Vicki Fowler recently returned for the first time in two decades with her new husband Ross Marshall and his son Joel, there’s one character who fans have been desperate to see again.
Played by Michelle Collins, Cindy Beale hasn’t been seen in Walford since Thursday, February 25, when she was ordered by her ex-husband Ian Beale to leave.
The former couple have been at odds since Christmas Day, when Cindy’s affair with Junior Knight was exposed just moments before she was violently attacked with a shovel.

Eventually learning that it was Ian’s mum Kathy Beale who assaulted her, Cindy shot Ian in the arm, before later pushing him into the path of a speeding car that crashed into the Queen Vic and resulted in Martin’s death.

Despite Ian bribing and telling her that he’d tell the police everything that happened if she returned, Cindy will be back on Monday, May 5.

Cindy’s return will arrive on the day of her son Peter Beale and his pregnant fiancée Lauren Branning’s engagement party.
Lauren is worried after their latest midwife check-up brings up potential complications are discussed, during which Peter exits to take a call.
During the party at Harry’s Barn, Lauren gets over her pregnancy fears before being stunned at the sight of Cindy, whose affair she lifted the lid on.

On Tuesday, May 6, Lauren tells Peter in a shocking ultimatum that it’s her or Cindy as she can’t be married to him with his mum in his life.
Initially shunned by the Beales and the Knights, Cindy retaliates by revealing all about what Kathy did to her in an attempt to finally have some sympathy shown to her.
In spite of Cindy and Lauren being rivals for months, when the latter goes into labour its up to Cindy to take matters into her own hands as the ambulance is delayed.

Whether Cindy manages to win over Lauren and the rest of Albert Square’s residents remains to be seen, but her return is certain to bring the drama.
