Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) has revealed the shocking reason she killed Shireen Bashar.
As fans of the soap know, Nic killed their eldest son Harry’s (Elijah Holloway) ex-girlfriend four years ago.
In recent weeks we’ve seen her becoming increasingly desperate to conceal the scandal when she faced a major hitch.
Hubby Teddy (Roland Manookian) had agreed to head-up a redevelopment project on a derelict industrial park in their former home town of Dartford.
With this being the land where the Shireen is buried, Nic knew that she’d have to disturb the grave and move the body as soon as possible.
Her associate Benji (Carl Prekopp) refused to do the job, and dropped the bombshell that he had planted a piece of Nicola’s jewellery at the scene of the crime as insurance.
She then confronted Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) and asked him to complete the grizzly task, even offering 10k. He asserted that it wasn’t worth losing his children over, and during an explosive row, Teddy overheard.
In tonight’s episode, Nicola tells Teddy that Benji was the murderer and that he did it because Shireen owed her money.
He was adamant that Harry should know, and the two headed off to her birthday party to keep up the happy family pretence.
Nicola was concerned that, if they should tell Harry, his behaviour could spiral.
With the pressure mounting and the tension rising between her and Teddy, she darted off home and left the bash early.
Youngest son Barney (Lewis Bridgeman) became suspicious that something was up, but Nicola didn’t want to trouble him and brushed it off.

However, when Teddy returned to the house, she was gone. All that was left was a note, saying that she had gone to sort her own problems.
At Paradise Park, she frantically dug at the ground – mouthing off to Shireen as if she could hear her.
Among her frustration, she admitted that the reason she was killed was because Shireen became privy to a damning piece of information about Nicola’s past.
The girl knew that Barney was fathered by Zack Hudson (James Farrar), and not Teddy.
Seconds later, Teddy arrived at the scene.
But did he overhear Nicola’s admission?
