Ahead of the season finale, the CBS show has been teasing a storyline for one of its characters that suggests their time on the series is short.

Nearly all of the original cast members remain on the show, but viewers are convinced that one is about to exit.

Jordan Calloway

Jordan Calloway as Jake Crawford – POSSIBLY LEAVING?

Viewers are speculating that Jordan will be leaving Fire Country.

It started with Season 3 Episode 11, titled “Fire and Ice,” in which he was suspended for disobeying Fire Division Chief Sharon Leone’s orders to evacuate a mountain fire because of her planned water dump, which would have melted enough snow to cause an avalanche.

He told CalFire Battalion Chief Vince Leone about his desire to also become Battalion Chief someday, and Vince said wouldn’t happen unless he was dead, which made Jake realize that there’s no way to be promoted with Vince still around.

Jake called Luke Leon, Vince’s brother and another CalFire Battalion Chief, about when he would know it’s time to leave Station 42, via Soaps.com.

Then in Episode 18, titled “Eyes and Ears Everywhere,” Jake got a job offer at a firehouse in Butte County. Vince learned about the offer, and while the two made amends, Vince stressed that there was still no promotion available.

“Well then, Chief, I guess this is my two weeks’ notice,” Jake said.

Neither the actor nor CBS has confirmed the exit officially.

Some viewers have pointed out that moving Jake’s character to the Jared Padalecki-led Surfside would help to transition viewers to the potential spinoff. Find out what we know about the project so far.
