Former EastEnders star James Bye has revealed a surprising new look, two months on from his BBC soap exit.
The actor, 41, bowed out of his Martin Fowler role in explosive style during February’s anniversary celebrations.
The beloved resident died as a result of crush syndrome in the aftermath of the Queen Vic explosion, with the community torn apart as a result.
At the time of his departure, James said: ‘Saying goodbye is not easy, but after 10 years at EastEnders and on the night of the shows epic 40th anniversary – the time felt right.
‘It’s an honour to leave on a story of this magnitude. A huge thank you to all the fans of the show – EastEnders wouldn’t be what it is without you – and to the BBC and EastEnders team for trusting me with this role for so many years.
‘This fruit and veg man will always hold a special place in my heart. It’s time to look forward, and I’m incredibly excited for what the future holds. RIP Martin Fowler.’
James has already landed a new role, playing Mr Darcy in a production of Death Comes To Pemberley from May 1 to June 28.
He’s now been pictured donning a very different look at a red carpet event in London.

Alongside wife of 13 years Victoria, he attended the premiere of Thunderbolt in Leicester Square last night.
James sported a surprising new hair do and facial hair combination, that is worlds away from Martin Fowler.
His hair is now slicked back, and he’s giving major sideburns game.
It’s likely his new part in the Jane Austen play is the reasoning for his dramatic change in appearance. You can’t say he isn’t dedicated to his work!
Death Comes To Pemberley is a 2011 novel by P.D James, that continues to story of Austen’s 1813 smash hit Pride and Prejudice. It was later adapted for a three part BBC drama in 2013.
Last month, Victoria issued her own update on life beyond EastEnders.
