There are big changes to the usual TV schedule tonight on Bank Holiday Monday. Soap fans will need to check the schedules with huge alterations to usual proceedings.

The changes include the BBC having brought forward EastEnders ahead of broadcasting a film later this evening. The soap opera – which typically airs at 7.30pm – will instead be on at 6.50pm tonight, with the latest episode ending just before the time that it would usually begin on a Monday.

The episode – which is already available on BBC iPlayer – teases that Priya Nandra-Hart (played by Sophie Khan Levy) does her best to cheer up daughter Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James). Whilst Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) spots an an opportunity to prove himself to those around him in Walford.

Following the earlier than usual broadcast of the episode tonight, the BBC will air Disney’s live action Dumbo (2019) from 7.20pm until 9pm. Then the latest episode of Paddy and Chris: Road Tripping will air from 9pm until 10pm.

Meanwhile, ITV will be providing coverage of EFL Live from 5pm to 7.45pm this evening. The football coverage takes up some of Emmerdale’s usual slot in the schedule, with the soap not airing at all tonight.

The match will be followed by a condensed version of the ITV Evening News from 7.45pm to 8pm. The news programme typically airs for an hour on weeknights from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, with it often followed by Emmerdale.

Coronation Street will be on as usual from 8pm to 9pm tonight. The episode sees George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) land Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) and Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) in trouble with Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson).
