Emmerdale’s Jurell Carter has finally spoken out about his departure, calling for “justice” for Nate Robinson following the broadcast of his character’s dramatic demise. Since stepping into Nate’s shoes in 2019, the actor vanished from the show as his character “left” for a new venture in Shetland after his marriage to Tracy Metcalfe crumbled.

Audience suspicions were piqued after Nate wasn’t heard from except for a text confirming his safe arrival. The entrance of enigmatic John Sugden, who last spoke with Nate, set off alarm bells.

The Valentine’s Day limousine crash revealed Nate’s fate when Amy Wyatt encountered his chained and weighted body at the bottom of a frigid lake, clearly indicating foul play.

Although fans clamoured for answers, it was John Sugden they scrutinised most intensely. In the April 10 hour-long episode, Nate’s final chapter unfolded.

Injured in the barn fire, viewers saw John Sugden administer an injection in a desperate attempt to save him, reports the MEN.

Tragically, Nate suffered a fatal reaction to the drug, collapsing and dying. A horrified John reacted by bundling up Nate’s corpse and casting it into the lake.

Recent episodes hint at John harbouring a “hero complex”, causing harm to those unable to consent and then “rescuing” them.

He was behind the switching of Chas’ pills, framing Ella Forster, Jacob’s allergic reaction, and ultimately, the accidental death of Nate.

Following the episode’s airing, Jurell Carter shared a clip on Instagram showing flashbacks of Nate’s demise. He captioned it: “Justice for my boy Nate” accompanied by broken heart emojis.

After departing Emmerdale, Jurell took on the role of Loggo in James Graham’s stage production of Boys from the Blackstuff.

This adaptation of Alan Bleasdale’s BAFTA-winning TV drama is set in 1980s Liverpool and revolves around five men struggling to find employment in a job-scarce environment.

Emmerdale returns to our screens on Monday, April 14 at 7.30 pm.
