John Sugden’s crimes are mounting up. The latest Emmerdale episode showed the star character’s cold and remorseless covering up of killing of Nate Robinson.
In a series of flashbacks, the hour-long episode aired on Thursday April 10 showed John (played by Oliver Farnworth) trying to administer Nate (Jurell Carter) with medication when he found him at a barn fire. But when he returned with a second shot, John was shocked to discover Nate had died.
A later flashback then shows him wrap Nate’s dead body up in a black bag and chains and throw him into the same lake where the infamous limo crash occurred.
But that was far from the only crime committed by John. The doctor also was responsible for setting up Ella Forster (Paula Lane), and he spiked Chas Dingle’s (Lucy Pargeter) drink last month.

In today’s episode, John, again trying to set himself up as the hero, switched his and Jacob Gallagher’s (Joe-Warren Plant) drinks after he purposefully ordered a coffee with nut milk in. Jacob, who has a nut allergy, suffered an anaphylactic shock and would have died if not for John administering him with an injection.
It allowed John to bask in the glory of the villagers’ adoration in the pub as the episode drew to a close, leaving Emmerdale fans fuming. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan said: “Ooooh he’s got a screw or two loose.. poor Aaron!” Another wrote: “He’s evil through and through.”

Another said: “OMG John is WICKED… why is he doing that to Jacob?” While another fan asked: “Who’s more evil, John or Meena?” referring to Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu), one of Emmerdale’s most famous serial killers.

In an Emmerdale Facebook fan group, one viewer said: “Wow! What an episode, that was brilliant. Seriously, who called it with John? So he’s the one who tampered with Chas’ meds, not herself. Also cancelled the wedding, the brick through the window and Nate mystery solved too, so that was John also . So it’s all been John. He is literally tapped in the head. Pyscho. No one is safe.”
It’s fair to say Emmerdale fans are fuming at John’s actions. And we can’t wait to find out how far the enigmatic doctor will go in tomorrow’s episode.
Elsewhere in the episode, Tracy Robinson’s (Amy Walsh) stealing from employer Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) was outed when her sister, Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick), had two many glasses of wine and let the secret slip. A heartbroken Eric fired Tracy on the spot, who later in the episode said she would move to Nottingham where she might find a job after her reputation was ruined.
