EastEnders fans are speculating about the comeback of a soap legend to rescue the beleaguered Slater family.
The renowned Slater family has been through a rough patch in recent months. In February, Stacey (Lacey Turner) was left heartbroken when her ex-husband Martin Fowler (James Bye) tragically lost his life following the Queen Vic explosion.
Viewers will remember that Martin and Stacey rekindled their relationship in his final moments, even planning to remarry. However, his untimely death has since sent shockwaves through the square, leaving everyone mourning the loss of the popular fruit and veg trader.
Struggling to deal with the grief, Stacey disappeared from the square last month, only to return this week for Martin’s funeral. Meanwhile, Martin and Stacey’s daughter Lily (Lillia Turner) is also having a hard time.
Lily has started to go off the rails, turning to alcohol and marijuana with Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James), who is dealing with her own issues after a distressing police search last month, reports Plymouth Live.

This week in Walford, Martin’s funeral took place, with many residents attending to pay their respects. However, the solemn event was disrupted when Stacey discovered that Martin’s market stall had been set on fire.
In Wednesday’s episode (April 9), a determined Stacey pledged to find the person responsible, initially suspecting Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton), leading to a confrontation between the two.

After receiving some snaps of the charred market stall from copper Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), Stacey was shocked to see Lily’s water bottle at the scene, hinting that the teen might be the arsonist.
But now, EastEnders enthusiasts are buzzing with speculation that a soap icon could be making a dramatic return amidst the current Slater family chaos. One fan posted on an EastEnders Facebook group: “It was Lilly as if you would do that to your dead dads stall”.
The comments section lit up with viewers suggesting that Sean Slater (Robert Kazinsky) might swoop back into the Square to prevent Lily from spiralling out of control and to stand by his sister Stacey.

One disgruntled viewer remarked: “I actually thought her character had turned a corner, horrible little brat. What is it with the writers turning everyone into hateful characters?”.

Sean first strutted onto Albert Square in 2006, quickly winning over the audience. He was central to numerous major plots, including his various love affairs and rivalries. Despite leaving Walford in 2009, Sean was last seen on the show in 2021.
