When Kim Tate (Claire King) discovered Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) had been having an affair with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) in Emmerdale, she wasn’t surprise when Dawn said she didn’t exactly want it to stop.
As far as Kim was concerned, Joe had got under Dawn’s skin just to satisfy his own needs. Kim told Dawn that once Joe had got what he wanted, he’d drop her and leave.
Dawn didn’t believe Kim, but sadly that was the case.
Just before Doctor Crowley (James Hillier) conducted Joe’s organ donation op, Dawn was told by Kim that he had gone to Chicago. At first, Dawn reckoned that Joe would contact her once he had landed after his flight, but that never happened.
Kim proved that Joe was serious about upping sticks and leaving Home Farm by showing Dawn his empty room.
In reality, Joe and Crowley had agreed to leave Emmerdale once the donation had been complete, because it was taking place unethically and illegally.
Dawn was heartbroken but she did her best to hide it.

When she had a moment to herself, she sent Joe a voicemail confused and wondering what he was thinking leaving, hours after they admitted they’re in love with each other.
With Joe seemingly gone for good, Dawn’s focus should hopefully turn back to her actual husband Billy (Jay Kontzle).
In order to encourage this, upcoming episodes will see Kim orchestrate a romantic night away for them both, hoping it’ll get their relationship back on track.
But will it be enough?
