EastEnders’ Natalie Cassidy’s new TV show receives brutal review from daughter

Actress Natalie Cassidy’s EastEnders character Sonia Fowler hasn’t left Albert Square yet, but the star is already the face of a new show, and she has a tough crowd.

Last night saw the debut of her Channel 4 show What’s The Big Deal: Britain’s Best Buys? During the show, the EastEnders actor gives viewers the lowdown of some of the UK’s latest must have products and reveals if they’re really worth the hype. Last night, Natalie gave viewers the low-down on LED facemasks and lion’s mane mushrooms.

To assist her, Natalie gathers intel from an array of experts, as six British households road-test the products for themselves at home. They then give their honest opinion on which products they would actually buy.

They weren’t the only ones giving their honest opinions, as Natalie’s daughters, Eliza, 15 and Joanie, 8, revealed what they really thought of their mum’s new show.

Taking to her Instagram stories Natalie filmed a video in her living room, as she asked: “Joan, what did you think of mummy’s new programme?” Joan wasn’t best impressed, as she responded: “It was okay.”

“Thank you darling,” Natalie responded as she continued to ask her eldest Eliza about her opinions, who was a lot more enthusiastic.

“I thought it was good!” she exclaimed. “I really liked it, I thought it was really good. Entertaining for the right audience,” she continued.

Wanting a more positive review from her youngest, Natalie then questioned once again: “Joan, just ok?” There was a compliment somewhere in Joan’s response as she told Natalie she thought it was better than her “other show”.

In the caption, the star penned: “My honest review from the girls,” alongside a rolling eye and love heart emoji.

Speaking on her new show when they announcement was made, Natalie Cassidy said: “I am looking forward to getting to ask the questions we all want to know about must-have products. Like all of us, I love to try the latest things but as a busy mum what I really want to know is what lives up to the claims and what is the best deal?”

Natalie’s new show comes months after she made the announcement she’d be leaving EastEnders after 32 years. Speaking previously about her exit from the Square, Natalie wrote: “I feel extremely sad to be writing this, but also very excited. After another 11 solid years back on The Square, I have decided it’s time to move on to pastures new.

“EastEnders is in my bones so I will never forget where I started my career and I will continue to love the show. Thank you to Chris Clenshaw for the opportunity to be such a big part of the 40th anniversary – it’s an honour. See ya, Sonia, going but never forgotten.”
