Emmerdale fans found it “creepy” as Steph Miligan’s face morphed into Anthony Fox’s during Wednesday’s (26th March) episode as she tries to adjust to his betrayal.
During Wednesday’s instalment, Steph was battling with the turmoil caused after she found out the reality of who her grandad Anthony Fox really was.
Anthony and Steph both arrived on the ITV soap together last year and it was clear that Ruby felt uncomfortable when Anthony announced that he would be staying for the foreseeable in order to make amends with his estranged daughter.
However, things soon escalated when viewers learned that Anthony had repeatedly sexually abused Ruby when she was a teenager, including one incident where he turned out to be Steph’s biological father.
Once Caleb found out the truth he held his father-in-law at gunpoint and demanded answers. Although he left without a scratch, Anthony met his fate at the depot when Aaron found him there and beat him to a pulp.

Fans later learned that it was Ruby who ended up killing him after she found him lay on the floor battered and bruised. Ruby decided to seek her own justice and put an end to his life by covering his mouth with a rag.

While originally trying to conceal the truth from Steph, she grew suspicious around her family and decided to dig deeper. Eventually, she found a gun in Caleb’s safe and forced him to go to the police station and hand himself in for shooting Anthony.
In order to protect Ruby, he agreed. This led Ruby no choice but to confess everything to her daughter, who was left traumatised and in shock at the revelation.
Now, Steph is part of the “murder club” which currently involves herself, Ruby, Caleb, Aaron, John, Chas and Cain. With Jai Sharma trying to also dig up information, he might be next on the list.
On Wednesday, Steph was sat in the woolpack as Chas told her she had something in her hair. As she studied herself through the phone screen, her face slowly morphed into Anthony’s.

As the “creepy” twist aired, Steph was seen in shock and then headed straight to her internet browser to search “plastic surgery in Leeds” in order to demolish any resemblance of her biological father.
Taking to social media, fans labelled it as a “horror movie” scene. On a Facebook fan page, one viewer wrote: “So creepy when Steph sees her Grandad in her phone. Was like a horror movie”
Another replied: “I reckon she’s going to start hallucinating him soon” as a third fan penned: “she’s haunted by the confused feeling she is experiencing… the actress playing Steph, she’s brilliant.” This was followed by another viewer who joked: “I was waiting for him to speak to her”.
