Emmerdale‘s Manpreet Sharma comes out fighting against Ella Forster in Tuesday’s episode (March 25) as the two friends fall out.
The doctors surgery colleagues have been bonding in recent weeks, but that all changes in the show’s hour-long episode this evening.
Ella is rapidly losing friends and allies in the village amid suspicion that she tampered with Chas Dingle’s pain medication.
A strange incident with Chas’s pills led to her collapsing and hitting her head at The Woolpack last week.
Chas and Liam Cavanagh have been quick to accuse Ella over the mystery. They know that Ella has struggled to see Liam moving on with someone new, and she was also caught lurking in pub’s back room around the time Chas’s medication was messed with.
In Tuesday’s episode, Manpreet finally decides where her loyalties lie, as Ella’s desperate efforts to defend herself have only made her look even more guilty.
At the café, Manpreet makes it clear that she wants Ella to move out as soon as possible – effectively cutting all ties with her.
Ella snipes back by insisting that Chas has a painkiller problem and is trying to frame her. What’s more, she even thinks that Manpreet should have done more to spot the problem sooner.
She says: “By the way, you’re as much to blame as anyone. You’re supposed to be a doctor, you should have spotted the signs.
“But you didn’t. Maybe because you were too distracted plastering naked photos of yourself all over the internet.”
Ella had previously supported Manpreet through the blackmail threats she’d faced over her x-rated online account, but it seems that the gloves are off.
Charles and Claudette Anderson overhear the row and are stunned to hear what Manpreet has been up to. While Charles prefers to stay out of it, conservative Claudette is very keen to hear whether the village GP is “some kind of pornographer”.
Manpreet announces: “I am really sorry to have to say this, but Ella is very unwell, to the point of being completely deluded and fabricating malicious lies.”
