Fans of Emmerdale have rejoiced at the combination of Ross Barton and Kim Tate, who have struck up a new working relationship during last night’s episode. In an unlikely turn of events, Ross’s job offer came as he stole Kim’s prize horse, Ice… wait, no, the opposite of that.
Putting Kim’s horse back in the paddock after an attempt to be rid of Kammy backfired, Ross was caught red-handed by Kim. As she held him at gunpoint demanding answers, Ross set to work talking his way out of the situation.
And it worked – somehow, Ross managed to wangle himself a job as Kim’s head of security at Home Farm. This came to the consternation of Joe, who’s desperate to keep his shady scheming (and affair with Dawn) a secret.

Emmerdale fans celebrate as Ross and Kim begin working together
Writing on social media as these scenes aired, fans shared their delight at the combination of Kim and Ross in a ‘professional’ setting. And many agreed that it could only be a good thing for both characters.
“Ross working for Kim is the best thing,” wrote one fan.
“Kim and Ross working together!! I’m here for this,” said another.
“Kim & Ross the new power couple?… Yes please!!!!” cheered a third.
“Oh this feels VERY #ClassicEmmerdale! Ross and Kim! We are loving these little scenes!” another agreed, with the warning: “But watch out, Ross, she’ll eat you for breakfast!”

What does Ross’s new job mean for Joe?
Joe was appalled to learn about Kim’s new hire. Ross, meanwhile, was quick to rub it in his rival’s face, meeting his new boss in a drink at The Woolpack.
And, afterwards, Ross soon made his presence known at Home Farm. Barging in on a quiet moment between Joe and Dawn, he had her worried after he made a crack which hinted that he knew all about their affair.
But Joe has even more serious things to worry about. With his (needlessly complicated) plan to steal a kidney from Caleb picking up steam, the last thing he needs is hot-headed Ross stomping around in his business – especially given he already had suspicions about Noah’s spiking last month.
