EastEnders lines up a dramatic week for the Mitchell clan, as confirmed in our new spoiler pictures, with accusations made and a special episode documenting Phil’s (Steve McFadden) stay in a mental health unit.
Phil, as viewers know, attempted to take his own life almost a month ago and – after Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) intervened – he agreed to get some help.
The character has predominantly been off our screens ever since but next week, a special episode will document his four-week stay in the mental health unit.
Phil struggles to settle in and is initially reluctant to open up.
However, as time goes by, he meets patient Gaz (Keith Allen) and they bond over their shared life experiences.
As the weeks progress, he faces his inner trauma and his support worker Yasmin helps him see he is ready to leave.
Meanwhile, back in the Square, it’s the anniversary of Shireen’s disappearance and her brother Asad arrives to reveal that he no longer blames Harry (Elijah Holloway) for what happened.
Nicola (Laura Doddington) hosts a vigil at Harry’s Barn to remember Shireen but Asad interrupts and accuses Teddy (Roland Manookian) of the crime.
Is there any truth to such a theory? Has the mystery been solved?
That remains to be seen but Harry subsequently begs Teddy for the truth, while Nicola too is keen to know more about Shireen’s disappearance.

Will we finally get some answers about what happened?
Elsewhere, Nigel struggles with his memory and breaks down to Linda. Later, he confuses Lexi for Clare and opens up once again to the Queen Vic landlady, who offers him support.
It’s going to be an emotional week!
