Very EMOTIONAL News!!! Soap round-up: Emmerdale Noah truth, EastEnders’ Grant exit and Neighbours’ finale

What a week. After a huge few days for dramatic soap headlines, we’re breaking down the biggest new spoilers previewing what happens next.

Emmerdale has revealed what’s coming up for Noah Dingle’s dark storyline following the recent mystery surrounding his spiking.

Fans can also expect a strong aftermath to the ITV soap’s big limo crash, as the village mourns those who were lost.

Elsewhere, after unmissable episodes that will go down in the show’s history, EastEnders has confirmed the aftermath of the 40th anniversary week.

In very sad news, Neighbours has also shared the first teasers of what to expect as the show builds up to its final episodes at the end of the year.

Did you miss any gossip this week? Don’t worry, as we’re on hand with our regular Sunday guide to the biggest soap headlines from the past 7 days.

Emmerdale’s Noah drama continues

Emmerdale aired another major Joe Tate twist this week, as a sinister flashback scene revealed that he was involved in his half-brother Noah Dingle’s recent spiking incident.

Joe was seen at a private hospital with a disorientated Noah, having teamed up with a dodgy doctor for unknown reasons.

Next week’s scenes see someone arrive at Home Farm to accuse Joe of being responsible for the spiking and, in turn, the recent limo crash.

Kim isn’t sure what to believe, so she recruits Lydia Dingle to spy on Joe until further notice.

Meanwhile, Noah starts to experience further flashbacks over what happened – and this time they’re more vivid. Will Joe’s guilt be exposed?

Emmerdale’s emotional vigil

Emmerdale fans should also watch out for an emotional vigil as the villagers gather together to pay their last respects to Suzy Merton, Leyla Harding and Amy Barton.

The scenes air in Monday’s episode (February 24) as local vicar Charles Anderson brings everyone together for the sombre occasion. But why is Manpreet Sharma receiving mysterious texts during the service?

EastEnders exit ahead for Grant Mitchell

Ross Kemp reprised his role as Grant Mitchell for EastEnders’ 40th anniversary episodes, but we always knew that he wouldn’t be sticking around in Walford forever.

Next week’s episodes explore a tough time for Grant, who faces a backlash from his family for the way he responded to his brother Phil’s recent troubles.

Nigel Bates is among those who are annoyed with Grant. By the end of the week, though, they seem to be on better terms as Grant suggests that Nigel should join him as he heads back to Portugal.

Grant promises to support Nigel through his journey living with dementia, but will Nigel be willing to leave the Square?

In other EastEnders news, fans should watch out for the imminent return of Vicki Fowler, as Alice Haig takes over the role.

EastEnders teasers after Denise’s choice

EastEnders favourite Denise Fox chose Jack Branning over Ravi Gulati in the show’s live episode this week. The romantic scenes were determined by a groundbreaking public vote between Jack and Ravi, allowing fans to have control over storylines for the first time.

After the big reveal was performed live to the nation, Aaron Thiara – who plays Ravi – dropped a cryptic teaser on Instagram. He said: “You may think it’s the end. But we have only just begun…”

Meanwhile, Diane Parish – who plays Denise – poured cold water on claims that her character had chosen the dull outcome.

She promised: “Back together again. Don’t predict ‘boring’. Expect DRAMA. Cos that is what we do @bbceastenders.”

Neighbours plots a new finale

We started the week writing about Neighbours’ exciting 40th anniversary plans, and ended it by reacting to the sad news that the iconic Aussie soap has been axed again.

If you haven’t read it yet, don’t miss our article highlighting the successes of the Amazon revival and why it shouldn’t be considered a failure despite its finite run.

Meanwhile, executive producer Jason Herbison has been sharing his initial thoughts over how he’ll approach the final episode, which airs in December.

Promising not to copy the 2022 finale, he commented: “I certainly wouldn’t want to repeat myself – that was a great finale, I loved writing that episode. It was incredible that everyone came back for it. I don’t know, I think this time around it would be a little bit of a different tone.

“But just as we said before, we were resting the show, we do see Neighbours as eternal. Who knows about the future? So I think whatever ending, it will be a door left open kind of ending again.”

Coronation Street confirms Hollyoaks star’s role

Coronation Street this week released the first pictures showing former Hollyoaks star Ryan Mulvey joining the soap.

Ryan will be taking on the role of jailed teenager Brody, who crosses paths with Dylan Wilson at the Secure Training Centre (STC) next week.

Dylan is about to be sentenced to time locked away, as his knife was the one used to kill Mason Radcliffe last month.

Brody befriends Dylan, who’s nervous about his new surroundings and the dangerous lads he’s locked up with, but is the friendship genuine?

Home and Away exit for Irene Roberts

Home and Away has delivered an Aussie soap shock of its own this week – confirming that Lynne McGranger will be bowing out from her role as Irene Roberts.

Lynne has decided that the time is right to leave the Summer Bay soap after playing Irene for nearly 33 years.

She said today: “After almost 33 years in my dream role and working everyday with people who I love, respect and whom I now consider family, it’s bittersweet to be closing the chapter on what has been the best and longest gig of my life.”

Hollyoaks trouble ahead for Rex

Hollyoaks has revealed that Lucas Hay could be responsible for exposing Rex Gallagher’s dodgy dealings.

Lucas is concerned next week when he learns that his boyfriend Dillon Ray and friend Frankie Osborne have been smoking spice, supplied to them by Rex.

Things get worse when Rex makes it clear that he wants Dillon to store more bags at James Nightingale’s old place, implicating the teens in criminal activity once again.

Lucas decides to take action by calling the police to let them know about Rex storing stolen goods.
