By the time the Thursday, February 20th of episode General Hospital began, viewers knew this would be the end of the line for Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), but who would kill him? As it turns out, it looked at the beginning that there would be two likely suspects, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) or Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy).
As the action picked up, Lucky (today played by Guy Wilson subbing for Jonathan Jackson) has been stabbed by a syringe full of digitalis by Renault, who flees the scenes at Liz’s (Rebecca Herbst) house as she calls 9-1-1. Once the paramedics arrive, Lucky is rushed to GH. Liz calls Laura (Genie Francis) and alerts to Lucky’s health crisis.
Eventually, Anna (Finola Hughes) arrives at Liz’s house and puts out an APB for Cyrus. Aiden (Colin Cassidy) comes home and Anna takes him to the hospital where he sits with Laura. Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) is the attending physician and learns from Liz, Lucky received a lethal dose of digitalis and begins to save his life. Later, he comes out to tell the family of Lucky’s condition, only he pauses before he reveals any update.

Meanwhile, Jason is visiting Sam’s grave having a crisis of conscious. He wants to kill Cyrus right now. However, he knows that Sam would want him to do what’s best for their son, Danny and that is to not leave Danny with the possibility of losing two parents, or even having one behind bars for the rest of his life. In the end, Jason chooses doing what’s best for their son is paramount, and to honor what Sam would want him to do.
Josslyn, who is now in the cabin the woods where Cyrus lives, continues to rummage through drawers, closet, the couch anything she can turn upside down determined to find incriminating evidence to bring Renault to justice for killing her boyfriend, Dex Heller. Not giving up in her search, she finds an envelope taped under a desk drawer and there finds the hospital bracelets of all the patients Cyrus killed including Dex and Sam McCall!

As Josslyn is photographing the evidence with her phone, Cyrus shows up at the front door wielding an ax! An ominous Cyrus tells Joss that she shouldn’t have come to the cabin and is about to go after her. However, Josslyn pulls out a gun from seemingly her back pocket and fires two bullets through him, one hitting his chest. As Cyrus slumps to the floor, he calls Josslyn “a murderer” is his final moments on earth.
Stunned by her actions, and not knowing what to do, she looks at her phone and a list of names pops up including Jason and Jack Brennan. She makes a call saying she needs some help. Then, at the end of the episode, Brennan (Chris McKenna) shows up at the cabin door looking over the crime scene.

Now the question becomes, is Brennan going to be there to help Josslyn clean up the crime in order to protect her, or does Brennan have an ulterior motive to hold over her head? Remember, he is the one that led Josslyn directly to Renault with breadcumbs on the cabin location. So is he on the up and up?

According to GH co-head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten, when speaking with Soap Opera Digest, “We’ll soon learn why. Brennan’s presence in Port Charles and his proximity to Carly is no accident. His feelings for Carly are accidental, though, and those feelings will come into direct conflict with his intentions for Josslyn.”
