This article contains spoilers for Friday February 21’s Emmerdale episode, now available on ITVX.
There are more sinister developments ahead in Emmerdale today, with the identity of that mysterious lake dead body being revealed at last.
And, dear reader, it turns out a lot of you were on the money!
As ever, spoilers follow, this is your final warning if you don’t want to know and just dropped in here for a nosey.
We first saw that a corpse was looming under the icy lake crashed through by the now late Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson).
She was terrified to see the grisly arm protruding from a taped up bag but then later succumbed to hypothermia before she could mention it.
The lake has been dredged with the limo pulled out but, so far, the body is still yet to be recovered.
However, someone is clearly worried as the person who did the deed was looming in the distance of the scene of the crime, watching for any signs that their handiwork would be unearthed. Well, unwatered.
Luckily for them, it hasn’t – for now.
Amid all of this, Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) tried unsuccessfully to call departed ex Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter).
When he first left the village for a new life in Scotland, it seemed he had cut all ties as Tracy found her calls ignored.
Recently fans have speculated that he never even left the village, instead being killed.
A suspect that has sprung to mind is John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), who was pretty expert at dealing with Anthony’s body.
But Caleb Miligan (William Ash) has also had his name chucked about into the ether, given his dalliances with Tracy which left Nate broken-hearted.
Whoever it is clearly had a reason for wanting Nate dead – but whodunnit?
And how will the village respond to a fourth death after losing three other beloved residents?
