It’s the week after tragedy in EastEnders – but don’t expect the drama to die down in any way.
As residents come to terms with what’s happened, new secrets come to light while the community tries to pull together – but is everyone on the same side?
Meanwhile, focus shifts to Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp) who is feeling ostracised.
And he is then rocked by a confession from Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley).
And life has changed for Denise Fox (Diane Parish) – thanks to you!
It’s time to introduce her new partner…

It’s a new dawn in Albert Square as the shocked residents try to process the events of the day before but struggle with the enormity of what’s happened.
At No.55, the tension between Nigel and Grant mounts. Other members of the Mitchell family arrive and have plenty of questions for irritated Grant, who is finding it hard to keep his temper in the face of intense scrutiny and criticism over his actions.

After taking some much-needed advice, Grant makes a decision that he hopes will be a step in the right direction.
Denise and her new partner agree to tell their families about their relationship tomorrow.

Emotions remain high, as Walford attempts to adjust to its new normal following recent events, with the community pulling together to support one and other.
In the café, Nigel and Grant have breakfast with some of the family, but it’s not long before tensions rise again between Grant and the rest of the clan.

Later, Grant gets some words of wisdom in the café from an unlikely source. Meanwhile, having spied their confrontation, Yolande comforts Nigel and encourages him to tell Grant about his dementia diagnosis, but Nigel is adamant he doesn’t want to.
Grant overhears, and asks Nigel for the truth…
At No.20, Denise introduces her family to her new partner…

Grant is shocked to learn that Nigel has early onset dementia and leaves No.55 after the pair row.
Emotional, Grant is desperate to find some solace as he tries to get his head around this latest bombshell, so pays a visit to the only person he believes can help him.

Elsewhere, one Walford family finds themselves looking for help from their friends and neighbours and are warmed by a welcome from a kind local.
Meanwhile, another Square resident confides a massive secret to a friend, only to realise they’ve been overheard.
Thursday February 27
Grant makes a big assumption only to find himself disappointed so decides it’s time to get out of Walford.
Before leaving, Grant supports an unlikely source as the pair put their historic differences aside. Later at No.55, Grant asks Nigel to move to Portugal with him, promising to support him as he copes with his dementia diagnosis.
The residents of Walford congregate at Harry’s Barn, but the sombre occasion is the catalyst for more drama amongst the grief-stricken locals.
