Emmerdale star Beth Cordingly has shared a throwback video from her time on set a year after joining the ITV soap.

The actress first hit our screens as Ruby Fox-Miligan last January, and the character wasted no time in causing absolute chaos among the villagers.

‘Ooh. This just came up. This is Ruby -between takes -exactly a year ago. When she did more shouting and less crying and upset EVERYBODY ALL THE TIME,’ Beth shared alongside an Instagram reel.

In the reel, she can be seen sitting in a car with a smile on her face, captioned ‘defo less crying in cars then’.

This week, it was revealed that Ruby had been the one to kill Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day), after his sexual abuse of her as a child was exposed.

In one scene, Ruby sat crying behind the wheel of her car, debating whether or not to hand herself into the police, as referenced by Beth in her Instagram post.

Fans appreciated the throwback to Ruby’s happier times, with one writing: ‘I have so enjoyed following your story. The character has turned from someone that is instantly disliked to showing such vulnerability. Brilliant acting!’

‘Love this!! Fabulous a year ago and even more fabulous now! Your work on screen is just incredible,’ another added.

When she first arrived in the village as Caleb Miligan’s (William Ash) estranged wife, Ruby caused plenty of trouble, from exposing Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) and Caleb’s affair to spreading a rumour that Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) had scabies.

Since the arrival of daughter Steph Miligan (Georgia Jay), it has become clear that Ruby has been keeping a devastating secret, after being raped by her dad as a teenager.
