Emmerdale lines up a festive season to remember, as confirmed

and the return of a much-loved favourite.

Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) is left to process the events of the previous week, with Tom King (James Chase) having been sentenced to three years in prison for the torment he subjected her to.

But her mind soon wanders to Piper, her beloved pet dog, and she wonders if Tom was telling the truth about her death. Elsewhere, Home Farm is destroyed on Christmas Day in a chilling flashforward.

Has Kim Tate’s (Claire King) ultimate nemesis come out of the woodwork to destroy her, like Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) was told that he would?

As Christmas arrives in the village, a flashforward confirms that tragedy strikes Home Farm, with the once beautifully-decorated living area now a mess. The question is: just what has transpired?

On Christmas morning, Rhona encourages Marlon to make things right with April following their row but, upon going to check on her, the chef is horrified to discover that she’s not in her room.
