Emmerdale teen rushed to hospital in A&E emergency

Last summer, Charity (Emma Atkins) was beside herself when Sarah started drinking

while on her meds. A hugely risky move, but one pretty normal of an average teenager.

She told Charity at the time that her motivation was that she doesn’t want to be

wrapped in cotton wool, but she clearly hasn’t learned her lesson when she ends up in a potentially life-threatening situation once again.

With New Year celebrations in full swing, Sarah can’t resist temptation and goes on a huge drinking binge.

Her family’s fear is realised when her dance with alcohol sees her being rushed to A&E.

It’s the same A&E her new bloke, Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) is based at for his placement, and her admission will ultimately put a huge strain on their relationship.

She recovers from her brush with alcohol poisoning and is able to go home – but it comes back to bite her on the backside.

Jacob is having a tough time trying to get to grips with working in A&E. Having a new relationship on top of that makes things even more complicated.

When Sarah later sees him socialising with his work pals while ignoring her, she feels gutted and out on the periphery.

But things suddenly take a turn and get much worse – Jacob’s friends recognise her, she is the girl who stupidly got herself admitted for being blind drunk.

This is embarrassing enough for Sarah, but then the group start to go in on her. She looks to Jacob to help, but he says nothing.

Later, he tries to apologise, but is his heart really in it? Hinting at Jacob and Sarah’s future, actor Joe-Warren Plant teased that it might all be too much too soon for the aspiring doctor.

‘I think Jacob is a really kind-hearted person but at the same time I would say he is very impulsive and he does let the emotions get the better of him in certain situations and it ultimately leads to him falling out with his friends and family.

‘So, one thing I would say to Jacob is to take some time out for himself to deal with the pressures that he is going to be facing.’ Is it all over before it’s begun?
