In Emmerdale, Steph Miligan has entered the soap, but fans can only
focus on one thing about actresses Georgia Jay and Beth Cordingly.
Earlier this month, it was confirmed that Caleb and Ruby’s daughter
Steph Miligan will soon be arriving in Emmerdale. Actress Georgia Jay took up the role and has been shaking up the Dales ever since. Ruby Miligan, played by Beth Cordingly, isshocked to see her daughter return to the Dales, having not seen her for years.
So, why is Steph here? Well it’s certainly not for a happy family reunion when she admitted she was only there because she knew Ruby wasn’t.
Emmerdale: Steph arrived in the village
Steph wants her inheritance and then she’s gone for good. Caleb begged her to stay, but it’s clear there’s a whole lot of family history to unpack here. And, she is absolutely not over her messy childhood.
In tonight’s episode (Monday, November 18), we see Ruby and Steph reunite.
Things heat up between the pair, as they seem to disagree on Steph’s upbringing. Ruby, convinced she gave her daughter a good childhood, can’t seem to understand Steph’s side. It comes to a blow when Ruby slaps Steph.
Steph storms out and has no interest in listening to her mum’s apologies. Despite all this drama, there’s only one thing on viewers’ minds.
A photo was uploaded to ITV’s Emmerdale Facebook page showing Steph’s return at the end of last week. Many people were shocked, but most people could not believe how similar the actresses Georgia and Beth look.
Emmerdale: Are Georgia Jay and Beth Cordingly related?
One viewer wrote: “Great casting of Steph! She looks just like Ruby!” While another added: “If not related, it’s good the writers found a lookalike actress who can also act like Ruby. She seems just as fiery as her mum, extended family to the Dingles.”
A third asked: “Is the actress who plays Ruby’s daughter any relation to her as the resemblance to Ruby is uncanny?”
A fourth replied to the question: “She even sounds like her.”
So, are they related?
The answer is no. Steph is played by newcomer Georgia Jay, who has previously had a two-episode role in 2019 BBC drama Giri/Haji.
While there is no relation, Georgia is keen to get involved at the soap. She told the Metro: “I think when she does spend time with them and there’s a lot to unpack, it becomes a little bit clearer that perhaps a reconciliation could happen, but there’s a lot more in there which I can’t talk about.”
