Billy Fletcher’s (Jay Kontzle) involvement in illegal underground boxing
soon puts his children, Clemmie and Lucas, in grave danger in
upcoming Emmerdale episodes. Billy has taken up underground boxing
to earn quick cash. His mentor, Jade (Twinnie-Lee Moore), organizes the fights and has dangerous connections, ensuring that backing out of her deals isn’t easy for Billy.
“She’s quite mysterious. Billy knows very little about her, but her occasional arrival with a group of enforcers makes him aware that he’s in over his head,” explained actor Jay Kontzle.
“She has a dark side that Billy wouldn’t dare cross. He knows from past experience with other characters that his family could be at risk if he doesn’t comply with Jade’s demands. He genuinely fears for his family’s safety when she’s around.”
Realizing Jade’s threats now target his loved ones, Billy reluctantly agrees to the fight.
Feeling uneasy, he later confides in Ross, expressing his reluctance about the rematch. Ross reminds him of Jade’s threats against both of their families, and the following day, Billy is struck by the depths Jade will go to when Dawn informs him in a panic that Clemmie and Lucas have gone missing.
Forced to confront the situation, Billy admits that Jade may be responsible for their disappearance.
Reflecting on the web of lies he’s spun, Jay noted, “I think deep down, it’s incredibly hard for Billy to keep this secret from Dawn. Realistically, how long can he hide it? Injuries are bound to appear, and it’s going to be hard to explain them.”
“At some point, she’s going to catch on that his ‘boxercise injuries’ aren’t adding up. This is a high-risk job, and there’s only so much he can hide before she realizes the truth.”
He added, “With everything happening with their children, especially Evan, it’s the last thing Dawn would want, particularly as Billy chose to get involved in this.”
“While Billy is concerned, it’s not just about money; he’s also doing it to clear his mind and feel better.”
