Tina Dingle may have sinister intentions with her son Vinny Dingle
as she fixates on her status as a wealthy widower.
Emmerdale regular Vinny, portrayed by actor Bradley Johnson,
was grief-stricken following the passing of his beloved wife Liv Flaherty. But after her tragic death, the scrap dealer was given a generous windfall, which he nearly gambled all away
In recent scenes of the ITV soap, Vinny and the rest of the Dingle clan got the shock of a lifetime when Tina Dingle (newcomer Samantha Power) returned to the eponymous village, just in time for Zak Dingle’s emotional funeral.
During this Thursday’s (November 7, 2024) trip to the Dales, Tina was spotted by her father’s grave as she chatted to her brother Sam Dingle (James Hooton). But tensions escalated during another discussion with Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) in other scenes.
Tina is none other than Vinny’s biological mother – a secret beautician Mandy has been desperate to keep under wraps. But in another breath, Tina has expressed interest in his windfall. “Why didn’t you tell me our Vinny was a widower? A rich one, at that?”, Tina notably asked Mandy during their confrontation.
This prompted Mandy to remind her she’d agreed not to say anything to Vinny, to which Tina retorted: “I promised not to tell him that he’s my son”, hinting at the possibility that she could con Vinny out of all his money.
And to make matters worse, she tried to enlist Mandy’s help. Tina eventually issued her with a chilling ultimatum: “Help me get a ‘for sale’ sign put up outside that house and I might just lose interest altogether.” But will Mandy go along with it?
Viewers of the long-running show have been less than pleased by Tina’s return to Emmerdale, as one penned on X: “Tina can F off under the rock she crawled out from after all that time now trying to come for Vinny when Mandy’s been his mother all this time she can’t just rock up after all that time and now play the loving mother card.”
Another soap fan recently complained: “Why does Mandy care if Tina tells Vinny? He is a grown man, he is barely going to sod off with Tina is he”, while a third recommended Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) should get involved and sort the matter out himself: “Mandy needs to tell Vinny truth then tell Cain what Tina wants.”
The Dingle have another enemy to face as Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) has had the courage to report her husband Tom King (James Chase) to the police after enduring months of abuse. But while the vile vet continues to discredit her, someone close to him could have caught on to his true colours.
