Bode’s Fire Country Season 3’s Biggest Challenge Sets Up His Best Future (Without Gabriela)

Bode’s opportunity to get into the Cal Fire training program at Edgewater in Fire Country season 3, episode 2 also introduced his biggest challenge to date. Fire Country season 3, episode 1’s helicopter crash proved the perfect occasion for Bode to continue to prove himself, while also finally letting Luke and Sharon agree on his path ahead. Their decision to do anything they could to push for Bode to be considered for the Cal Fire training program for ex-inmates was fruitful in Fire Country season 3, episode 2, when Bode could finally present the helicopter crash incident for the test.

Luke evidently calling in favors so that Bode could have his chance at getting into the training program this late inevitably caused a ruckus. However, the trainees poking holes in Bode’s story also introduced how difficult it can be for Bode to be accepted among their ranks. Indeed, while among the inmates the camaraderie was immediate, the trainees having to fight for the six spots available within Cal Fire made them competitive. However, the competitiveness of one in particular can also introduce Bode’s most challenging and rewarding future based on the sparks flying in Fire Country season 3, episode 2.

Audrey James Poses A Challenge For Bode’s Firefighting Future In Fire Country
Audrey’s Ruthlessness During The Hotwash Proves She Can Make Bode’s Life Difficult

Leven Rambin’s character Audrey James was the most intense in her questions for Bode, even mocking him enough to get him slightly riled up. Being introduced during a drill already proved her abilities and desire to be the first in the class, but it was her questions during Bode’s incident post-mortem that cemented how much of a thorn in his side she could be if she wanted to. Audrey showed a ruthless approach to preparation in wanting to find information on Bode before his presentation, and her contacts within Three Rock made her dangerous.

Fire Country season 3’s new character Audrey showed how much of a challenge she can be for Bode, adding another layer of difficulty to the firefighting training for him.

Had Bode and Gabriela not missed the firefighter’s allergy tag, Bode wouldn’t have been on his toes about the presentation, especially as saying the wrong thing would have put Gabriela’s job in danger. Still, Fire Country season 3’s new character Audrey showed how much of a challenge she can be for Bode, especially given how Audrey made it clear she didn’t like how Bode could skip the first part of their training only because of his connections. This can add another layer of difficulty to the firefighting training for Bode, making it all the more exciting because of Audrey James.

Audrey’s Fire Country Arrival Is Good For Bode’s Professional & Personal Arcs
Bode Needs To Distance Himself From The Leone Legacy If He Wants To Truly Succeed

Given how Bode only got a chance to join the training program because of his uncle’s high role within Cal Fire, Bode would benefit from someone relentless in their goal to force him to prove himself. Audrey disliking him can finally push Bode to do more than just claiming his Leone legacy, embracing firefighting because he likes it and not because he comes from a long line of firefighters. Distancing himself from the other Leone firefighters can only do Bode good professionally, and being forced to do so by someone as ruthless as Audrey can make for an intriguing watch. However, Audrey and Bode’s competition can also turn into something steamier, potentially introducing a different romantic arc for Bode than what has been explored ever since Fire Country season 1. While the strength of Bode and Gabriela’s bond in Fire Country is undeniable, Manny may be right in saying they are not good for each other. Audrey pestering Bode enough to force him to be an impeccable firefighter can bring an always-entertaining rivals-to-lovers pairing on Fire Country, being in line with the rumors about Audrey potentially becoming Bode’s romantic interest in season 3.
