Jared Padalecki Re-Ups First-Look Deal With CBS Studios Amid ‘Fire Country’ Spinoff Buzz

EXCLUSIVE: CBS Studios has extended its first-look

deal with Jared Padalecki for him to develop and produce

new series projects across linear and streaming.

He is currently set for a three-episode arc on the studio’s CBS drama series Fire Country with an idea to explore a potential spinoff built around his character.

Padalecki first entered a first-look pact with CBS Studios in 2022 when the former Supernatural star was executive producing two CW series for the studio, Walker, which he also headlined, and prequel Walker: Independence.

Both dramas were caught up in the ownership change at the CW, with the mothership making it to this year when it was canceled for financial reasons despite being the network’s most watched series.

Keeping Padalecki in the fold has been a priority for CBS Studios following the end of Walker, leading to the guest-starring opportunity for him on Fire Country where he will play Camden, a SoCal firefighter and maverick with a surfer swagger who is a force to be reckoned with and immediately recognizes Bode’s (Max Thieriot) raw talent.

In success, Padaecki could headline a spinoff series, which is in very early stages, with no writer attached. Colloquially referred to as Fire Country: Surfside, the project could be either for CBS, home of Fire Country and upcoming spinoff Sherif Country, or Paramount+.

Since the end of Walker, Padalecki also has discussed a role on the upcoming fifth and final season of Prime Video’s The Boys, ran by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke. He is repped by UTA, Industry Entertainment and Fuller Law.
