EASTENDERS fans think they’ve cracked the identity of Teddy Mitchell’s mysterious ex-wife.
Teddy (Roland Manookian) debuted in the soap during the summer, alongside sons Harry
(Elijah Holloway) and Barney (Lewis Bridgeman). Sign up for the EastEnders newsletter
He arrived in Walford looking for his dad Stevie (Alan Ford) – and learned he has a half-brother, Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick).
Fans are aware Teddy was once married and have been trying to work out who his former spouse is.
Some reckon it’s none other than past character Annie Palmer, who was played by Loose Women’s Nadia Sawalha from 1997 to 1999.
Ultimately, the character ended up relocating to New Zealand.

In an online forum, one person wrote: “Is no one considering Annie Palmer at all? It would make a lot of sense.”
Another chimed in: “I’m thinking it could be Annie Palmer!”
However, a fellow viewer refuted this theory, pointing out: “Would she be 60ish now too though so age might rule her out as Barney’s mother at least?
“The actress is around 60 so I presume the character is about that age too.
“Teddy would have been a teen in the mid to late 90s so if the boy’s mother is of a similar age she would have been a teen in that era too.
“It rules out a lot of past female characters so I hope they do go with a brand new character played by a cracking actress.
EastEnders star making huge comeback after shock exit – and she won’t be alone
“It’d be better than trying to force an offscreen backstory onto a pre existing character.”
Some viewers previously thought Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman) could be the woman in question.
The character – who was imprisoned in 2005 for murdering husband Den Watts (Leslie Grantham) – recently made a comeback after 19 years.
Instead, of tying to Teddy, Chrissie’s return storyline saw her come face to face with rival Sharon (Letitia Dean) in prison.
Robert’s ex Katie Sugden almost exposed the affair – but fell to her death before she had the chance.
However, a guilty Aaron eventually cracked and told Chrissie about the affair – after which she announced it to the whole pub.
Meanwhile, viewers also saw her release – and surprise reunion with ex-boyfriend Jake Moon (Joel Beckett).
Before her return aired, a fan speculated: “Suppose Chrissie IS connected to Teddy is like an ex girlfriend/wife as she did have own life before she met Dirty Den in Spain or she’s the mother of one of his sons probably Barney?”
