This article contains spoilers for tonight’s EastEnders, which has not
yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
A key EastEnders character may be set to return in upcoming scenes
after a cunning move from Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry). Ex-wife Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) was well and truly moving on with her life as she announced her engagement party to fiancée Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) – something that dying Nish couldn’t bear.
Nish has previously revealed that his dying wish was to have Suki by his side – and that very nearly came to fruition when she stood by during a recent health scare that left Nish fighting for his life.
However, Nish pulled through, and in the hospital the heads of the Panesar family agreed to a truce, after months of trying to get at each other.
In tonight’s episode, Nish came up with a cunning plan to win Suki over once again.
As he explained to son Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) and grandson Nugget Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) that a young grandchild would bring people together, it was clear he still hadn’t let go of his hopes to have Suki beside him for his final days.
He asked Vinny to do him a favour, and later he returned with an update.
Vinny revealed that he had contacted Habiba Ahmed (Rukku Nahar) to ask if Suki could spend time with Jags Panesar’s (Amar Adatia) son Tyrion, but that she had refused to entertain the idea.
However, Nish wasn’t prepared to give up so easily and urged Vinny to go back to Habiba with a request for Tyrion to see his dying grandfather.
This turned out to be a more successful plan of action, and Vinny later arrived at Suki and Eve’s engagement party with news.
He explained that the next day, Suki would get to see all three of her grandchildren in one place, as Tyrion was coming to visit.
With Suki confused, Nish pointed out that it may be the last time Tyrion would get to see both of his grandparents together.
Could viewers be set to see a return for Habiba in the coming episodes as Suki and Nish spend time with Tye?
We know that a fire is soon set to rip through Albert Square, and it seems the Panesar family are at the centre of it, according to actor Shiv Jalota.
‘There is gonna be a lot of fire. I can’t say too much. There’s gonna be [twists and turns ahead],’ he told The Mirror.
With this in mind, how long will Suki and Nish be able to play happy families before turning on each other once more?
